I am one of the many American's that stands behind all of the President's decisions. Alot of people's problems is that they do not let the one's chosen to make decisions, to make them. As for the war that is going on right now. The one we know as ''The War on Terrorism'' . I know a few people who have been over there fighting the war and I also know a few people who are currently over there right now and I do keep in touch with them and I personally know one person who paid the ultimate price in this war. I personally think that if someone is going to enjoy the freedoms of this great country then the last thing they should be doing is sitting over here complaining about the president's choices.
The other day I was eating lunch at Chick-fil-a on Zebulon Road and all of the tables were taken. Their was a soldier looking for a place to sit and he asked if he could sit by a couple of me and my friends and I told him of course he could sit down. We got on the subject of how people treated him after a lady in the restaurant offer to buy his lunch. He told us how some people would go out of their way to be nice but sometimes there would be the ones that go out of their way to say something rude. These men and women are putting their lives on the line for all of us and some people can do nothing but complain.
I realize that the reasons for the United States going to war have changed. Even though the reasons have changed and the directions for the war have changed the main objective has not changed and that is to keep America safe. Some people do not think what is happening across the seas affects the well being of America and to those people I would remind them of where the plot of 9/11 took place.
After reading the Mailer I can tell you that I do not agree with their point of views on the war. I felt as if the writer was against the war effort from the first day. I also do not like how the writer degrades the President along with his speeches. If you do not like the war then keep your oppions to yourself.

To Get To the Other Side
I numbered Abigail as one. Because she was the main character in the story. I rated her character as a five because I would not any respect for someone like that in my own life. As I read the story and it told the terms Sinbad ,the river boat captain had given her. She did the right thing in the first place when she refused her offer. She had all my respect then. But when she changed her mind that is when she lost all of my respect, and she received an instant five.
My choice for number two was Sinbad the river boat captain. He also received a five. He does not have any type of morals. Anyone that would try to suduse any woman much less a woman who is involved with someone already obviously does not have any morals. When two people are in relations with each other no one else has any business getting involved with either person.
Ivan is my third choice and I give a one. I think he played an important role in this story. If more people would learn to stay out of other peoples problems. If more people would practice this a great deal of arguments that do happen would be simplified. Even though Ivan was asked to get involved he was smart enough to know that this was not his fight to get involved into.
I chose to give Gregory a two. The only reason I chose to give a two instead of one is that some people believe that people make mistakes and should be forgiven for their mistakes. I for one believe that to a certain extent. But the decision he made of not forgiving Abigail is one that I truly believe in. If I were in his position then I would made the same choice.
As for Slug, I give him a five. I refer to earlier in my blog entry in saying that it was not his fight to be involved with. I do not think he was in the wrong because of getting involved with Abigail, but I do think that he should have done anything to Gregory.
